On the Use of White Marbles in Roman Forum Sempronii (Fossombrone, Marche, Italy): An Overview of the Archaeometric Data on Architectural Elements

This paper presents the results of characterisation, identification, provenance determination, and quantification white, greco scritto-like polychrome marbles used for architectural purposes at Forum Sempronii, a Roman town in Marche region Italy. Samples five fragments white marble one fragment have been studied using mineralogical petrographic observations stable isotope ratio analysis (SIRA) carbon oxygen. Polychrome were macroscopically identified by comparison with reference samples available image databases.
